<p>Sometimes you&#8217;re just doing your thing, and somehow, someone notices and praises you for it.  Other times, a bunch of people help to make you shine.  This post is a short &#8220;Thank You&#8221; to two people who have helped to make me shine.</p>
<p>Recently I wrote a <a title="LinkedIn Tips - Small Town Pros" href="http://www.smallbizsurvival.com/2008/06/making-linkedin-work-for-small-town.html" target="_self">short post</a> on how to use LinkedIn for small town professionals.  <a title="Small Business Survival" href="http://www.smallbizsurvival.com/" target="_self">Becky McCray</a> and <a title="Chris Brogan's blog" href="http://www.chrisbrogan.com/ " target="_self">Chris Brogan</a> made it possible for me to be <a title="Semmy Nomination" href="http://www.semmys.org/category/small-business/" target="_self">nominated for a 2009 Semmy Award</a> for this piece.  Without Chris&#8217;s <a title="Comment on ChrisBrogan.com" href="http://www.chrisbrogan.com/social-media-starter-moves-for-small-town-small-businesses/#comment-124645" target="_self">post and comment section</a>, Becky never would have corresponded with me.  Without that connection, I wouldn&#8217;t have written the post and this happy little story wouldn&#8217;t have happened.  So thank you Chris, and thank you Becky!</p>
<p>Believe me, I am beyond honored that someone is even reading what I&#8217;m putting out there.  To be considered along with the other nominees is much more than I could ever have expected.</p>
